Stomach plication
This is a relatively new stomach reduction procedure that aims to reduce the volume of the stomach by sinking the fundus and the greater curvature into the stomach. The stomach is sewn together with sutures along its outer curvature, reducing its capacity by about 60-80%. The advantages of the procedure include: the reversibility of the procedure, a short hospitalization period, and the lack of the need to remove part of the stomach. The disadvantages include more difficult prediction of weight loss.
Sleeve gastrectomy
An increasingly popular and effective bariatric procedure that aims to remove about 4/5 of the stomach using endostaplers – this part is commonly called a cuff. As a result, a narrow sleeve with a capacity of about 100-150 ml is left. The outlet located at the base of the stomach, which is responsible for regulating the emptying of gastric contents into the small intestine, remains intact. Thanks to this, the function of the stomach is preserved. A smaller stomach means that the patient feels full faster and eats fewer meals, which in turn results in weight loss.
Gastric By-Pass
Gastric By-Pass (Gastric By-Pass, Mini Gastric By-Pass)
The final and extremely difficult to reverse method of bariatric surgery. This is a procedure that includes features of restrictive and limiting absorption surgery.
Gastric balloon
The ORBERA365 gastric balloon is placed in the stomach, which allows for the reduction of the stomach. It is a soft, silicone balloon filled with physiological saline. Due to its considerable volume, it causes a feeling of satiety even after a small meal. The patient is satiated, so thanks to it, he is not able to eat as much food as before. This method of reducing the stomach is non-invasive (non-surgical) and fully reversible. It was created to support weight loss while introducing a rational way of eating to the patient.

Despite having the balloon inserted, the patient must follow the principles of a healthy diet and lead an active lifestyle for the procedure to bring the full expected effect.
Endoscopic Gastroplasty using the OverStitch method
This method of stomach reduction is performed using an endoscope with a specialized OverStitch sewing system. With its help, the stomach is reduced by about 60% without the need to remove it. It is a minimally invasive procedure that does not leave extensive scars on the abdominal cavity, and the convalescence itself is much shorter. As with other methods of stomach reduction, here too the patient is required to engage in a healthier lifestyle.
